New Academic Conference Travel Awards launched by YBTC

Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is pleased to launch a new Academic Conference Travel Award, helping researchers share their work, develop connections and contribute to the wider brain tumour research community.
Researchers can apply for an award of up to £500 towards the reasonable costs of attending a national or international academic conference to present work relating to brain tumours.
Funding can contribute towards conference registration, travel and accommodation costs.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be the presenting author of a poster or oral presentation at the conference, with the work being presented relating to brain tumours.
Successful applicants will be asked to acknowledge YBTC’s financial support on their presentation materials and, following the conference, provide a short report or take part in a telephone interview with YBTC about their experience.
When can I apply?
Unlike our annual Pump-Priming Research Awards, applications for Travel Awards are considered on a rolling basis, subject to the availability of funds.
Applications must be made and approved before the conference takes place, so we encourage researchers to apply as early as possible. Retrospective applications cannot be considered.
How to apply
Applicants should submit:
A completed Travel Award Application Form
Written confirmation from the conference that they are a presenting author
A letter of support from a supervisor, if relevant
A CV
Full eligibility criteria and details of the scheme can be found in our Travel Award Terms & Conditions - see below.
Completed applications and supporting documents should be sent to research@yorksbtc.org.uk
