1-2-1 Support
Facing a brain tumour diagnosis can be overwhelming for patients and their families. That’s why we're committed to providing 1-2-1 support, offering personalised care and a listening ear through our dedicated services:
1-2-1 Wellbeing Calls
Our dedicated staff team provides welfare calls to ensure you feel supported and informed throughout your journey. These calls are typically about 30 minutes and are designed to:
-
Check in on your wellbeing and provide emotional support
-
Provide you with a safe space, to allow you to chat freely without judgement
-
Offer guidance and answer any questions about available resources
-
Connect you with additional services or organisations that can help
Our staff team is committed to ensuring that every patient and family member feels heard, valued, and supported.
1-2-1 Peer Support
Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who truly understands. Our trained peer support volunteers have personal experience of life after a brain tumour diagnosis — whether that’s living with the condition, supporting a loved one, or coping with bereavement.
They offer:
-
A listening ear from someone who’s been there
-
Practical tips, emotional support, and encouragement
-
Reassurance for anyone feeling alone during difficult times
Some volunteers also have specific experiences they’re happy to share. For example, one has had Transorbital Meningioma Surgery and can speak with others preparing for this procedure.
Counselling
Whilst we don't provide direct counselling services, we work collaboratively with trusted organisations and can guide individuals in making a referral to The Brain Tumour Charity, which offers up to 8 free remote counselling sessions for anyone diagnosed with a brain tumour or their loved ones.
