Our Staff Team

Hi, I’m David. I joined YBTC in August 2023 with over 20 years of senior leadership experience, including time as a commercial-sector CEO before moving into the charity sector. I hold a Level 7 Master’s-level qualification in Senior Leadership (Distinction) and am a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the CMI (CMgr FCMI). I’m also a qualified counsellor and am additionally certified by NHS HEE in Peer Support Training and Supervision.

It’s a privilege to lead YBTC and work alongside such a passionate, committed team. The incredible support we receive from people across Yorkshire is genuinely inspiring and sits at the heart of everything we do.

​

Originally from Newcastle, I’ve proudly called Yorkshire home since 1999. Outside of work, I love taking my two sons to St James’ Park to cheer on the Magpies — or being kept on my toes by our three energetic dogs, Bobby, Lola and Doris.

Hello, I'm Judith and I joined YBTC in February 2023. I started my career working as an auditor for one of the major Accountancy firms and then for many years held senior positions as Finance Director and Head of Finance in the Charity Sector.

I first became aware of YBTC following the untimely death of a friend from a brain tumour in 2021. When the position was advertised, I was excited by the prospect of carrying out the “all round” finance role for such a worthwhile, small charity.

​

In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, running and following my son’s career as a freelance classical singer.

I'm Amy and have been part of the YBTC team since September 2023. I have previously worked in education, and I am currently a student counsellor, hoping to complete a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. 

​

I sought a meaningful new role, which brought me to YBTC and the incredible work they do across Yorkshire. I feel extremely proud, and grateful to work here and provide support to our inspiring service users and their families. 

​

In my spare time I can be found out on family adventures, crafting, reading or at my local women's weightlifting gym.

I joined Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity in October as Corporate Partnerships Manager and feel privileged to support such a vital cause.

Having experienced the impact of brain tumours through family and friends, the charity’s work is particularly close to my heart.

My career spans housing, community regeneration, public sector commissioning and senior fundraising roles in wildlife conservation and hospice care. Throughout, I’ve been passionate about building meaningful partnerships and putting communities first.

I’m excited to connect with local businesses, volunteers and supporters to make a real difference to families affected by brain tumours across Yorkshire.

Originally from Ireland, I’ve called Yorkshire home for 21 years. Outside work, I enjoy reupholstering furniture, gardening and walking our Border Collie.

I joined YBTC in January 2024, as an administrative assistant. Before taking a year out to start a family, I previously worked in customer service with the British Heart Foundation at their eBay site in Leeds.

I was drawn to the charity as I lost a family member very quickly last year due to a brain tumour. Knowing and seeing the devastating effect this can have on the person with this disease and their family and friends made me want to contribute positively.

​

In my spare time, I like to do fun activities with my little family unit, read, listen to true crime podcasts, and play Animal Crossing on my Nintendo Switch.

Hi, I'm Sophie, and I joined the YBTC team in June 2026 - making me the newest member of the team!

I began my career in logistics and coordination within the power systems industry. Following the loss of a close family member, I felt a strong desire to give back to my community in a more meaningful way. This led me to manage a flagship charity shop and donation centre for several years, where I discovered a natural talent and passion for fundraising. I've always had the gift of the gab, and I'm excited to use it to make a positive difference.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me engrossed in my Kindle with Mando the cat curled up on my lap, open-water swimming in the Yorkshire Dales, or spending time with the lovely ladies at Yarn Geeks, a community group where we share textile skills, creativity, and conversation while helping to lighten life's mental load.

I’m Amy and I joined YBTC in October 2026. I lead the Empowering Choices Programme, helping people face a brain tumour diagnosis with confidence. I’m a Speech and Language Therapist by background and I have experience training healthcare professionals in communication skills, particularly how to approach emotionally complex and challenging conversations with compassion and respect.  I also used to run communication support groups for Stroke patients and their families.

Alongside my work with YBTC, I’m an emotional wellbeing coach, supporting children, young people and families who struggle with their big feelings, using a playful and creative approach.

 

In my spare time I’m a keen swimmer and enjoy family dog walks with our daft Dalmatian/Deerhound cross.
