Meet Our Team
Charity Director
David Grant-Roberts
Hi, I'm David and I joined as Charity Director in August 2023. Before this I worked as Founder/Managing Director of an SME for 12 years, before finding my calling in the 3rd sector in 2019. My previous role was Head of Service at a mental health charity and I'm also a trained counsellor, having completed a Level 5 Diploma (DipHE) in Advanced Counselling Skills.
I'm absolutely honoured to have the opportunity to lead YBTC. I am often overwhelmed by the vital work we do to help brain tumour patients and their families across Yorkshire, and also by how much this charity means to so many people. It's a special charity and a privilege to work with my fantastic team to develop YBTC into its exciting new chapter.
Originally from Newcastle, I've lived in Yorkshire since 1999 - so am now very much an adopted Yorkshireman! When it comes to football though, I still have my old allegiances - so outside of work I enjoy taking my 2 sons to St James' Park to cheer on the Magpies! I have 3 (very lively) dogs called Bobby, Lola and Doris and can also often be found walking (or running after) them.
Finance Officer
Judith Micklethwaite
Hello, I'm Judith and I joined YBTC in February 2023. I started my career working as an auditor for one of the major Accountancy firms and then for many years held senior positions as Finance Director and Head of Finance in the Charity Sector.
I first became aware of YBTC following the untimely death of a friend from a brain tumour in 2021. When the position was advertised, I was excited by the prospect of carrying out the “all round” finance role for such a worthwhile, small charity.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, running and following my son’s career as a freelance classical singer.
Support Services Lead
Amy Gorse
I'm Amy and have been part of the YBTC team since September 2023. I have previously worked in education, and I am currently a student counsellor, hoping to complete a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I sought a meaningful new role, which brought me to YBTC and the incredible work they do across Yorkshire. I feel extremely proud, and grateful to work here and provide support to our inspiring service users and their families.
In my spare time I can be found out on family adventures, crafting, reading or at my local women's weightlifting gym.
Fundraiser
Fiona Harris-Hunt
Hi! My name is Fi, and I joined the YBTC team in March 2024! I have previously worked as a fundraiser for disability charities and in the education sector!
I joined YBTC team to be part of an amazing charity that changes the lives of people living in Yorkshire! I am proud to be a Yorkshire-woman, and love seeing the tremendous impact that our loving care and loving research has on not only those who have been diagnosed with brain tumours, but also their families, across the region!
Outside of my work with YBTC, I love silver smithing and making bespoke jewellery- when I'm not in the workshop, I love walking the dales with my lurcher, Jack!
Administrative Assistant
Eilish Logan
I joined YBTC in January 2024, as an administrative assistant. Before taking a year out to start a family, I previously worked in customer service with the British Heart Foundation at their eBay site in Leeds.
I was drawn to the charity as I lost a family member very quickly last year due to a brain tumour. Knowing and seeing the devastating effect this can have on the person with this disease and their family and friends made me want to contribute positively.
In my spare time, I like to do fun activities with my little family unit, read, listen to true crime podcasts, and play Animal Crossing on my Nintendo Switch.
