1. Introduction 

 

Welcome to Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity’s Great Yorkshire Show Prize Draw! By participating in this prize draw, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. 

 

2. Eligibility 

Participants must be 18+ or have the permission of a parent/guardian to enter. Employees, Trustees or Volunteers of Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity, their immediate families, and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation are not eligible to participate. 

 

3. Data Collection and Use 

 

3.1 Data Collection: We collect personal data from participants, including but not limited to, your name, email address, and contact number. This information is necessary for the administration of the prize draw, including the selection and notification of winners. 

 

3.2 Purpose of Data Collection: The data collected will be used solely for the purposes of: 

• Contacting winners to notify them of their prize. 

• Sending updates and information related to the prize draw to those who have opted in to receive such communications. 

 

3.3 Consent: By participating in the prize draw, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described in these terms and conditions. Participants will have the option to opt-in to receive further communications from Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity at the point of data collection. 

 

4. GDPR Compliance 

 

4.1 Data Processing: All personal data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant local data protection laws. We are committed to ensuring that your data is secure and handled with the utmost care. 

 

4.2 Data Retention: Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Data of participants who do not opt-in for further communications will be deleted after the prize draw has concluded and winners have been notified. 

 

4.3 Your Rights: You have the right to: 

• Access the personal data we hold about you. 

• Request correction of any incorrect or incomplete data. 

• Request deletion of your personal data. 

• Withdraw consent at any time if you have opted-in to receive communications.

5. Participation and Conduct

 

5.1 Fair Play: Participants are expected to participate fairly. Any use of automated systems, multiple entries, or any form of cheating will result in disqualification. 

 

5.2 Acceptance of Terms: By participating in the prize draw, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

5.3 Participation: In order to take part in the competition, you must provide contact details (either email address or telephone number), so that we can contact you if you win.

5.2 Donation: It is not mandatory for participants to make a donation to YBTC, but donations are gratefully received to help us support brain tumour patients/ families in Yorkshire.

 

6. Age-Restricted Prizes 

 

6.1 Age Verification: We are unable to provide age-restricted prizes to persons under 18 years old. Winners of age-restricted items will be required to provide proof of age prior to delivery. Acceptable forms of proof include a valid passport, driving license, or national ID card. 

 

7. Prize Draw 

 

7.1 Draw Date and Method: The prize draw will begin on the 6th July, ending at midnight on the 31st of July. The winner/s will be drawn on 1st August using Give Away Jet: https://www.giveawayjet.com/name-picker, please note that each entrant will be assigned a random number which will be entered into the generator and as a result none of your data will be used by a third party. Winners will be contacted on three separate occasions during the first week of August via the contact details provided during registration.

8. Prize Details 

 

8.1  Prizes: 

• There are two prize bundles to be won in our Great Yorkshire Show competition: 

• Bundle 1 - Lego Camper Set & £30 Lego Rental Voucher 

• Bundle 2 - a Fortnum & Mason Bloody Mary Kit & Bottle of Champagne

• When you enter the draw, you will select which of the two prizes you would like to win

• You may enter the draw twice, and be eligible for one entry for each separate prize. Each email address or telephone number may only be used once for each prize (twice in total)

8.2 Notification: Winners will be notified via the contact details provided during registration. We will attempt to contact the winner/s on 3 separate occasions, if a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within seven days, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize and select a replacement winner. 

 

8.3 Prize Delivery: Prizes will be delivered to the winners by Royal Mail, one week after the winners have been contacted and their information has been verified. 

 

9. Amendments and Liability 

 

9.1 Changes to Terms: Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website. 

 

9.2 Liability: Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity is not responsible for any technical issues, human error, or other problems that may result in loss of data, delay, or failure in participation or prize delivery.
