What does the Yarny Army do?
Our
Yarny Army are helping us to knit yellow badges for
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which we will be selling throughout September to raise vital funds and awareness.
The funds we raise will enable us to support more children and young people who have been diagnosed with a brain tumour themselves or have been affected by a diagnosis in the family.
We provide various types of
financial, emotional and practical support for children and their families, including counselling, grants, family events and support meetups.

Would you be
happy to be featured on our website, social media and in the press?
If so, please print off our
Yarny Army logo and take a selfie (on your own or with the rest of your knitting group) holding the logo in front of your badges.
Send your photos to
Jen@yorksbtc.org.uk along with a
short quote that tells us your reason for supporting YBTC by joining the Yarny Army.
Meet our Yarny Army
Carol said: "My friend's little grandson is a cancer survivor. I lost my husband 20 years ago to a glioblastoma grade 4. We really need to get research done and cures found."
Diana is a second year Pharmacology student at the University of Huddersfield, and is the Bioscience Society Manager. She has been knitting since the age of 10 and contacted us in April to join our Yarny Army. She has knitted 200 badges and will be selling them in September when students are back on campus!
