Throughout August, we asked our supporters to spread the word about our Aviva Community Fund campaign, and you more than delivered!
By sharing our posts and donating, you helped us raise a total of £1,770, smashing our £1,500 target! £800 of this was kindly donated by the Aviva Community Fund team, while the rest was made up of generous donations by individual supporters. It all means an incredible amount to us!
The Aviva Community Fund is all about backing clever ideas that move communities forward. Our project involves expanding our support across even more areas of Yorkshire. We want to offer specific groups for those in South Yorkshire, and different meetups for high and low grade patients. We also want to offer different types of meetings, for example arts and crafts or walking groups, to ensure there is something for everyone.
This funding will help us to make this goal a reality, reaching more brain tumour patients and their families than ever and ensuring everyone has the support they need in their area.
Our CEO Marie Peacock said: "Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our project to expand our services across the Yorkshire region, and helped us to reach our target. We were so blown away by all your support and are very grateful to everyone who helped us to get so far."
"We understand that joining a support group can sometimes feel quite daunting, and so we want to offer people more choices. Your support means we can continue to expand our services and make sure that everyone has someone to turn to."
