Two different groups took on the amazing challenge of climbing three peaks for YBTC last month. Here's more about why they decided to do the challenges and how they got on:
#TeamTolly

This August, Lindsey Tolson and her friends Zoe Georgiou, Karen Bonner, James Bonner, Cate Taylor, Amber Evelen and John Kitson took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise funds for YBTC in memory of her dad Richard Tolson (Tolly) who attended the charity for support.
It's not the first time the family has taken on a remarkable challenge for YBTC. In May 2019, despite being poorly, Lindsey's dad Richard walked 10k every day. Then when her dad sadly passed away, Lindsey turned his fighting spirit and positivity into a challenge and cycled 10 miles every day in June 2020, raising an incredible £3,983.30 for YBTC.
This June it was two years since Lindsey’s dad passed away. Lindsey said: “Even though he’s not here I can still hear him saying “Lindsey enjoy now and go out and do something fun,” so I’m arranging a Yorkshire Three Peaks walk with friends and whoever else wants to join me!”
#TeamTolly smashed the challenge and raised an incredible £721.25 for YBTC. Thank you all for your support!

James and Dan

James and Dan, who are both just 9 years old, completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks with their dads in August.
They were inspired to take on the challenge after a boy in their class at primary school was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour. The boys have also learnt about the importance of the charity's work through Dan's aunty, Dr Lucy Stead, one of the researchers at the University of Leeds funded by YBTC.
The challenge involved walking over 16 miles, and they raised an incredible £3,072 for YBTC.
Dan's proud dad Ian said: "The boys did really well with not a minute's moaning. They were rewarded with a huge burger at a local pub after the walk and a trip to White Scar Caves the following day. The boys are looking forward to their show-and-tell assembly next term at school."
