Our trustee Paul Chumas has entered the tricky "Étape" stage of this year’s Tour de France to raise funds for YBTC.
Paul was a co-founder of our charity back in 2002 when we were known as Andrea's Gift, and works as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Leeds General Infirmary, so our cause is very close to his heart.
This challenging part of the Tour de France route involves cycling 175km along a mountainside, climbing 4500m to finish at the top of the Alpe d'Huez!

Paul will be cycling and raising funds alongside two friends, Sean Knott and Nick Wallen.
Paul, Sean and Nick have frequently completed cycling challenges for YBTC alongside fellow trustee Martin Gatenby, including the annual Big Bike Challenge which he has taken part in since the first installment back in 2004.

Paul said: “This charity is so important – working as a neurosurgeon at LGI, I see first-hand the devastation this disease causes. There are very few cancers with such a devastating effect as brain tumours - in children or adults - and we need to change that.
"I'm taking on this challenge because I am passionate about developing research, treatment and support locally in Yorkshire that can have an impact globally. People supporting our cause can know that their money is going on research which is being carried out in Yorkshire and that the support we give is to Yorkshire patients."
