YBTC offers a selection of fiction and non-fiction books to the patients, carers and loved ones we support. There are books aimed at adults as well as colouring books and picture books for children and young people.
The titles on offer include
A Manual for Heartache,
When Someone Very Special Dies: Children Can Learn to Cope with Grief and
Who Cares?: Learning to Care for Yourself while Caring for a Loved One.
These books don't have to be returned to us, so the patients and carers can reread them whenever they need solace, comfort and advice.
We ask for donations of books via our
Amazon Wishlist.
However, if you'd prefer not to shop via Amazon, there's now a brilliant alternative.
The lovely Simon from Big Green Bookshop, an independent online bookshop, spotted our appeal for book donations on social media.
Simon has set up
a new page on his website where you can make a donation, in £5 increments. Once there are enough donations, Simon will source some of the books on our wishlist from independent stores and send them to us.
An incredible amount of books worth over £300 have already been donated thanks to Simon and his kind social media followers. The titles we've received include
Frazzled by Ruby Wax,
The Recovery Letters by James Withey,
Languages of Loss by Sasha Bates and
The Secret C by Julie A Stokes. As you can see, we needed to clear a new shelf to store them all!
If you'd like to make a donation via the Big Green Bookshop site and "pay forward" some books for brain tumour patients and carers, please
