We had a fantastic meeting with the
Vintage Giving team last week. We talked about what more our staff and volunteers could be doing to ensure potentially valuable items don't end up in the bin at our charity shop.
Going forward, we'll be using a "stop and check" system, and putting broken jewellery and silverware to one side instead of throwing them away, and then shipping them free of charge to Vintage Giving once we've collected a large enough amount.
That's because Vintage Giving
pays per kilogram of metals donated, so even broken, chipped and mismatched items can be worth lots of money and converted into a donation for charity!

Today is National Old Stuff Day, so we're encouraging
you to have a clear out and look around the house for any vintage, metal and plated items. This might include candlesticks, necklaces, brooches, earrings, bracelets, silverware, gold, clocks and other ornaments and trinkets!
It's so easy to get involved – all you need to do is package your items safely, download a FREE shipping label from the Vintage Giving website and ship your items. Vintage Giving will do the rest, checking and weighing your shipment and sending a donation straight to YBTC!

If you’re having a clearout of any other old unused stuff – like clothing, homeware, books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, toys & small furniture – remember our
charity shop at 31 Otley Road is always eager for donations!
