Back in July 2021,
YBTC received £68,956 in funding from The National Lottery.
The main aims of our project, which started in July 2021 and carries on until June 2022, were to increase the amount of support groups, counselling sessions and family events we offer.
When we first embarked on the project, we aimed to increase our yearly support group provision from
26 groups in 2020/21 to
42 groups in 2021/22.
Just 8 months in, we've already delivered
64 group sessions across the region.
By the end of the 12 month project we're projected to have successfully offered a total of
112 support groups (that's a 330% increase from the previous year!)
In terms of counselling, initially we aimed to double the quantity of sessions offered from
114 in 2020/21 to
228 in 2021/22.
8 months in we have already offered
243 counselling sessions either in person or over the phone, and are expected to undertake around
350 sessions by the end of the 12-month period since the project began.
We are now proudly supporting over 700 people across the Yorkshire region who have been impacted by a brain tumour.
This would not have been possible without funding from the National Lottery. We'd like to say a big thank you to the TNL Community Fund.
