The event was held to pay tribute to Ellie Othick-Bowmaker, who was diagnosed with a slow growing childhood tumour when she was just 11 years old.
Hosted to mark 10 years since Ellie’s death on 14
th February 2010, it was organised by her mum Heather who founded Ellie’s Fund and continues to run our
recycling initiative.
Heather said of the event: “As Ellie’s mum, I didn’t want to let her 10-year anniversary go by unnoticed. I couldn’t think of a better tribute to a young lady who loved musical theatre than this wonderful evening of family entertainment produced and hosted by Twilight Productions.”
She continued: “The outpouring of love and support we received for the event, and the phenomenal amount raised – which will go to research into brain tumours in Ellie’s name – touchingly reminds us once again just how special our girl was.”
The evening was a fantastic success, raising over £4,000 for Ellie’s Fund.
Nicky Hood, Community Fundraiser at BTRS said of the event: “It was humbling to attend this wonderful evening celebrating Ellie’s life. The show was full of talent and energy and was brilliantly organised. Thank you to everyone who was involved and supported Heather to raise such a phenomenal amount for BTRS through Ellie’s Fund.”
