Our existing monthly Drop-in Cafés in Wakefield, Farsley and Doncaster have proven incredibly popular with the patients and loved ones who attend them.
These informal supportive get-togethers are a chance for anyone impacted by a brain tumour, at any stage of their journey, to chat to others in a similar situation while enjoying a relaxing drink.
We're thrilled to be adding an extra three cafés in Gipton, Hull and Huddersfield, to help us in our mission to be there for everyone impacted by a diagnosis, wherever they live in Yorkshire.
The new dates and locations are:
Huddersfield
Where: Hive Community and Café
Day: second Wednesday of the month
Time: 11am-1pm
Hull
Where: Crafty Cat Events
Day: first Tuesday of the month
Time: 11am-1pm
Gipton, East Leeds
Where: The Old Fire Station café
Day: the last Wednesday of the month
Time: 12-2pm
There's no need to book, just come along any time and feel free to bring along a friend.
We pay for your drinks, and can help to arrange transportation if needed. Disabled access is available at all our venues.
Our CEO Marie Peacock said: "Brain tumours turn lives upside down. We know how important it is for patients, carers and loved ones to speak to other people who really understand, so we are delighted to be able to launch these new informal monthly drop-ins, helping us to reach even more people impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis.”
Our Community Support Worker Natalie Mawson, who runs the drop-ins, said: "I have been blown away by the people and the atmosphere at the drop-ins, people’s compassion, humour, sensitivity. How much they get from connecting with people in a similar situation to them is fantastic and really helps to reduce isolation.
"I am delighted that we are increasing our reach across the communities throughout Yorkshire and making these events more accessible to others. I can’t wait to meet those who attend our new drop-ins."
