Our counselling gives children a different relationship to those they already have with the people around them; it’s not their parent, teacher or other care giver.
The work is child-led, non-directive and person-centred. It’s a confidential space, helping them to make sense of their experiences. This means that the child leads on exploring their thoughts, worries and feelings.
Using gentle encouragement and guidance, so they do not feel forced and rushed, we explore the emotions and trauma they may be experiencing, whilst ensuring that the child is always comfortable in the therapeutic space. The goal is that they feel more settled, confident and in control.
