Melissa Redmond
I’m Melissa and I am currently a university student at Leeds Beckett studying childhood studies. My passion for working with young people began when I left school and took a gap year before entering university. I worked with a variety of young people and children of all ages. The most rewarding work was when I worked with young people who had learning difficulties as a result of pre-exisiting conditions or illnesses.
When I started volunteering for Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity I began to learn so much about how the brain can be affected by this illness and how this can affect both young people and adults. This is why I am involved with the charity and why I am so passionate about helping young people.
