More about the group

Here are some things our volunteers and group members had to say about "S**t Club":

Janet, our group leader: "This is a safe space where we laugh, cry and ask questions, nothing is off-limits. We are a friendly mixed group and are very open, honest and caring about each other. No one is judged because we've all been on this rollercoaster. We talk openly about things that have happened or things that we can't voice to our family and friends for fear of not being understood. It's not all doom and gloom, we have a good laugh together and you'll be amongst friends who really do understand."

A bereaved husband: "It's a place where you can shed tears of sadness and tears of joy with similar experienced people who become good friends and understand what you're going through. You don't have to explain yourself. The people who attend get an awful lot out of it, which makes it worthwhile."

A bereaved husband: "In an informal relaxed setting I found it easier to share my thoughts and feelings with other similarly affected people. Knowing other people's ways of dealing with these issues makes you realise that you are not as strange as you think."
