Funerals

A funeral is a ritual.

In this current climate of lockdown and uncertainty our usual pattern of mourning our dead has been interrupted.

Maybe we can’t have a service, or the amount of mourners has been restricted or maybe you weren’t allowed to be present when your loved one died.

For you, you may feel guilty at not being present or that you cannot give your loved one the send-off you feel they deserve. This can all add to how we grieve, so it is really important we mark the occasion to the best of our ability.

With the use of technology, some funeral directors have been streaming funerals in order for people to feel connected. This live streaming can also be recorded so that you can watch it back when the time feels right for you. At a later date, you could hold a memorial service where you can gather people and take the time to experience the ritual of a gathering.
